The Flight Recorders of the Tuninter ATR 72 which ditched off the coast of Palermo on the 6th of August 2005 have been downloaded
   
Today, at the Agenzia Nazionale per la Sicurezza del Volo - ANSV, the Flight Recorders, the Cockpit Voice Recorder-CVR and the Flight Data Recorder-FDR have been opened and the data contained downloaded and made ready for reading and interpretation. The operation took place at the presence of all parties authorised by the Judicial Authority of Palermo.
First the CVR which records the sounds of the cockpit and radio communications then the FDR which collects flight data from various sources of the aircraft systems.
The Flight Recorders cases opening started at 10.30 in the morning and lasted until late in the afternoon.
The data recovered has been estimated to be readable and suitable for a correct retrieval of the information contained.
